Duff Cooper’s bookplate,
designed by Rex Whistler
It has always been the tradition of this Prize that it is the judges who call in the books, not the publishers who submit them. There is no submission form or process.
Should you however wish to bring a book to the judges’ attention, please send an email to email@example.com with details of the work. Should the judges wish to consider it, we will get back to you. If the book is accepted as a contender for the Prize, you must be prepared to send a copy to each of the five judges.
The book must be a work of history, biography, politics or poetry, published in English within the current year. (No manuscripts or bound typescripts will be accepted)
Works translated from another language are not eligible.
The author must be living at the time of publication.
The book must be published in the United Kingdom. The publisher should preferably be a well-established imprint and a member of the Publishers Association.
All copies of the book submitted to the Administrator and the judges of the Duff Cooper Prize are non returnable.
The Administrator's decision on whether or not to accept a book as a contender is final, and not open to discussion.
