Since 2005 we have been generously supported by
which donates the Champagne for the award presentation,
and contributes £1000 towards the £5,000 prize.
Submissions
Conditions of Entry:
- The book must be a work of history, biography, politics or poetry, published in English within the current year. (No manuscripts or bound typescripts will be accepted)
- The book must be submitted by the publisher, NOT the author. Books are not eligible if the author is also the publisher.
- The author must be living at the time of publication.
- The publisher must be a well-established imprint, preferably a member of the Publishers Association.
- All copies of the book submitted to the Administrator and the judges of the Duff Cooper Prize are non returnable.
- The book should be published in English within the current calendar year, and submitted by early December. Translated works originally written in another language are not eligible.
- There is no application form. If you wish to submit a book for the Duff Cooper Prize, please send a copy to the Administrator at the address above. The Administrator's decision on wherether or not to accept the book as a contender is final, and will not be discussed.
- If the book is accepted as a contender for the Prize, please be prepared to send a copy to each of the other four judges.
