The Duff Cooper Prize

The Duff Cooper Prize

Since 2005 we have been generously supported by
Pol Roger
which donates the Champagne for the award presentation,
and contributes £1000 towards the £5,000 prize.

The prize was first awarded in 1956 to Alan Moorehead for Gallipoli, and has been going ever since. Its categories are history, biography, politics and (very occasionally) poetry. The winner receives a first edition copy of Old Men Forget and a cheque for five thousand pounds - one thousand of which is donated by Pol Roger Ltd, who have generously provided the champagne for the award presentation since 2004.
